Mechatronics engineer

Mechatronic systems combine elements of mechanics, electro engineering and IT, which makes our mechatronics engineers all-round technical geniuses! Join us and you’ll be developing valuable mechanical and engineering skills, assembling systems, installing hardware and software, programming systems and much more.

As well as an understanding of technical connections and excellent manual skills, you should have above-average ability in math, physics and English and the character to work in a team.

What you need

  • Successful completion of at least 10 years of education
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Good practical skills
  • Strong interest in technology

Vocational course content

  • Operational and technical communication
  • Planning, managing, controlling and evaluating work processes
  • Foundations in metalworking
  • Foundations in electrical engineering
  • Installing and testing hard and software components
  • Programming mechatronic systems
  • Testing and adjusting mechatronic systems as well as putting into operation, maintaining and servicing
  • Quality assurance, work safety and environmental protection as integral components of all vocational training topics
The vocational training course lasts 3.5 years

Your career prospects

After you’ve completed your vocational training course, you have a wide variety of further training options:
  • Supervisory specialist
  • Obtain the Meister qualification
  • State-certified technician

Financing your vocational training course

You’ll be a paid employee during your vocational training. If you live more than 100 kilometers away from the training site and have to move closer, we’ll also pay you a rental allowance for a certain period.
