- University entrance qualification from a school or vocational college
- Strong interest in German, English, IT and math

Your practice-oriented program starts with two and a half years of vocational training as an IT specialist. At the same time, you’ll start a degree program in Information Science for Business at the private vocational university (FHDW) in Bergisch Gladbach. The lectures are held on Saturdays and in course blocks that extend over multiple weeks. You’ll also be working in international teams, often in other countries, so the common language is English.
The degree program covers:
- Business administration
- Business information systems
- Software engineering methods
- Hands-on software development
- IT consulting
After two and a half years, you’ll take your qualifying exam as an IT specialist, administered by the Cologne Chamber of Industry and Commerce. And, when you successfully complete your thesis in the final module, you’ll qualify with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree.

Financing your vocational training course
You’ll be a paid employee during your vocational training and if you live more than 100 kilometers away from the training site and have to move closer, we’ll pay you a rental allowance for a certain period. We’ll also cover the tuition fees for your bachelor studies.
